Private holidays in Slovenia
The Highlights of Slovenia
Starting from the capital, Ljubljana, you will get to learn everything you need to know about the Slovenian people and their traditions. As the journey continues, we will explore the famous Bled and Bohinj lakes before we continue up north. Here, the Julian Alps welcome us with their dramatic scenery, high mountain peaks and breathtaking views of the surrounding area. From there, you can almost see our next destination – the Soca river valley. For the last couple of days, you can get your bike shorts ready. We will be cycling through Vipava valley and Piran bay, two of the most picturesque cycling playgrounds of Slovenia.
The Vipava Valley
Allow us to start with the nation’s capital first and welcome you to Ljubljana, a masterpiece of Joze Plecnik’s architecture. With our first couple of days here, your two wheels will gladly take you around the capital and two most famous lakes, Bled and Bohinj. Continuing down south, we arrive to Vipava valley. Known for its precious wine, this area will secure some spectacular views for us. In between, we will most definitely find some extra time to enjoy the local food and fine wine. Our routes can always be adjusted for some extra hill climbs, if you want.
The Julian Alps
Unlike all of our other holidays, in Slovenia and rest of the region as well, here you won’t be using any assistance for moving around the area. We are not cycling or paddling but walking. Join us for this walking holiday and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Julian Alps and their surrounding area. We will be following some interesting trails around the lakes of Bled and Bohinj, get lost in some gorges and enjoy our picnics far away from the crowds. We will also be visiting the most dramatic location of them all, the mount Triglav. Pack your socks and see you soon.
The Istrian Peninsula
Starting inland, you will visit Croatia’s capital, Zagreb. Enjoy two days of exploring the history and culture of this newly discovered metropolitan destination in Europe. Our journey down south will take us to the Plitvice Lakes national park so we can reconnect with nature. Next three days, we will be cycling and truffle hunting around the Istria region, one of the finest gastronomical areas one can find in this part. Going over the border, the time has come for us to cycle around the Slovenian coastline and the famous Vipava valley. The trip ends in lovely Ljubljana.
