Balkan’s Finest Tour brings you a combination of sea kayaking in the Adriatic Sea and hiking, cycling and rafting in Montenegro’s mountains and rivers. Although Croatia and Montenegro share a common Adriatic coastline, the islands end at Croatia’s southern border with Montenegro.
Croatia’s unique coastline is a proud owner of roughly 1244 islands, a dream come true for paddlers. On the other hand, Montenegro has something different – spectacular mountain scenery, deep river-cut canyons, and the mountain-ringed Bay of Kotor.
You will deeply explore the Elaphiti archipelago on a sea kayak as you paddle through the blue waters of the Adriatic sea. Each of the islands has something special to remember and it will be hard for you to choose your favorite. Believe it or not, you will have the same problem in Montenegro. Once we arrive at this hidden gem, you will be left in awe. Every single day, like a deja vu.
If we have to tell you our favorite destination in Montenegro, it would definitely be the Tara river canyon. Or maybe the magical Piva lake. Now that we think of it, the Durmitor national park is our favorite. Unless we can count in the Žabljak region as well. Have you heard of Black Lake? Come with us and see what we’re talking about. Pictures don’t do justice to either of the countries.
If being in one place for too long isn’t your cup of tea, you came to the right place as Lighthouse will take you to so many destinations that you will have a difficult time choosing your highlight of the trip. Top picks of the two countries, packed into one big adventure by the name of “Balkan’s finest” where you will become a sea kayaker, hiker, whitewater paddler, mountain biker and a true nomad in touch with nature. Welcome.
