After your arrival to the Old City of Dubrovnik, one of the world’s most beautiful destinations, you will have some free time for sightseeing. Secondly, we will board an old Jadrolinija ferry to the Elaphiti Islands archipelago.
The island of Šipan, with around 400 inhabitants, is the largest of the Elaphiti islands. It has two villages, Luka Šipanska and Suđurađ. Besides being a small, quaint village, it is also representing a fascinating mixture of architecture, flora and culture. Furthermore, small stone houses protected by their terracotta roofs will win your hearts at first sight.
Meanwhile, we will also be exploring the local culture and architecture on the island. Our expedition will take us in our kayaks around the entire Šipan island, the uninhabited islands of Jakljan and Olipa. In conclusion of the week, the famous Lopud island and a short trip to the mainland where the oldest arboretum in the region awaits us.
Of course, local people are the hidden gem of this small island in Southern Dalmatia. For instance, if we listen carefully, we can learn so much about the old ways of life. Like how fishing has changed and what happens when the world comes to us.
